How to Stream a Video in AR
Use your headset’s normal web browser and visit ARPornTube.com. You don’t need to open DeoVR first.
Browse ARPornTube normally and open an AR/passthrough video.
Select the white Watch in AR button beneath the video.
Your headset hands the stream over to DeoVR. If prompted, allow your headset to open the app.
The selected video begins streaming without requiring you to download the complete file first.
ARPornTube also supplies relevant playback information with supported streams, helping DeoVR recognise how the video should be displayed.
For supported Alpha Passthrough content, ARPornTube identifies the content type so DeoVR can use its Alpha Packing functionality where appropriate.
Watch Directly in Your Browser
You can also watch videos using ARPornTube’s existing browser-based VR player.
Open a video and press the main Play button to begin browser playback. This can be useful when you want to quickly preview a scene or watch standard VR content without leaving the website.
Download & Watch Locally
Downloading remains available for users who prefer storing videos locally, want offline playback or want greater manual control over playback and passthrough settings.
Unlike Watch in AR, this method downloads the video file to your headset first and allows you to open it manually using a compatible VR player.

Open the Downloaded Video
Once the download has completed, open the file using your preferred compatible VR player.
ARPornTube’s download system includes compatible playback information in the filename to help supported players recognise characteristics such as stereo layout and projection.
Enable Passthrough
For traditional chroma-key content, enable passthrough inside your player and adjust the chroma settings as needed to remove the original coloured background.
For supported Alpha content in DeoVR, use Alpha Packing.

Watch in AR Doesn’t Open DeoVR
- Make sure DeoVR is installed on your headset.
- Open ARPornTube using your headset’s normal web browser.
- Do not use DeoVR’s built-in browser to launch Watch in AR.
- Allow your headset to open DeoVR if prompted.
DeoVR Opens but the Video Doesn’t Play
- Check your internet connection.
- Return to ARPornTube in your headset browser and relaunch the video.
- Try another video to see whether the issue is specific to that scene.
Background Isn’t Removed Properly
- For chroma-key videos, check the chroma controls.
- For compatible Alpha videos, check that Alpha Packing is being used.

Yes. Instant streaming is an additional viewing option. Downloads and ARPornTube’s existing browser-based player remain available.
Why can downloading take a long time?
High-resolution VR video files can be very large. Watch in AR can be more convenient because playback can begin through streaming without waiting for the complete file to finish downloading first.
